Pageant Monday (originally posted 6/7/11)

One day down!  Pageant Monday was a success.  The girls and the majority of the board spent the day at the Miss Delaware Golf Tournament which is a scholarship fundraiser.  It was a beautiful day to be on the golf course and everyone had a great time.  A huge thanks to the Miss DE Tournament Committee who worked so hard to put this event together.

The tournament was followed by a dinner and auction.  If you missed the auction, make sure that you plan to attend next year.  People were able to walk away with some real steals!!

Following the auction, all of the contestants were brought back to Dover Downs and had a few brief minutes to take all of their luggage to their rooms before they headed to production rehearsal.  At last night's rehearsal we worked on the opening number which is Ke$ha's "We Are Who We Are" and the opening of the second half which is to Britney Spears' "Til' the World Ends".  I must say that I was very pleased with how things went last night.  I think we are going to be in great shape by Wednesday's dress rehearsal.

The contestants were still in great spirits when they were finally sent back to their rooms at 11:15 pm.  They are enjoying their time together and it's really nice to see new friendships forming.  This group is VERY fun to work with!  They don't complain, they work hard, and they laugh often!!

Tuesday's schedule looks like this:  Breakfast, rehearsal, Legislative Hall (where they will meet the House/Senate/Governor), Lunch, rehearsal, Little Sister Pizza Party, Little Sister Rehearsal, Production rehearsal.  I will be sure to give you the details of the day tomorrow morning.

Good luck to the contestants chosen as finalists to interview for special awards tonight!!!
