Butterfly

My Aunt Cheryl has been on my mind a lot lately.  This Thursday would have been her birthday but sadly this Saturday also marks two years since she lost her battle with ovarian cancer.  So on my way to work today, I was thinking about her.  For some reason I was thinking about how whenever I would spend the night at her house she would make cheese toast for me and my cousins in the morning (at my request).  As far as I can remember cheese toast is just toasted bread with a piece of cheese on top but I thought it was the greatest thing in the world.  I am so going to make it for my kids this week.

Anyway, she was on my mind this morning. I came into work and realized a bit later that I had left my Cherry Coke Zero in the car (and everyone knows I can not live without my morning Cherry Coke Zero).  I ran back to my car and grabbed my coke and on the way back into my building a butterfly flew right in front of me.

After my Aunt passed away my cousin started to see butterflies everywhere.  They will sometimes land on her or her kids but they just seem to be present a lot.  We have come to believe that they are a sign from my Aunt that she is with us.

It is absolutely FREEZING today and has been for a few days.  There is no reason in the world that a butterfly should be out and about today.  I immediately started crying and I'm pretty sure that the lady at the front desk must have thought I lost my mind (this is the same lady who caught me busting a move in my office one day).  What an amazing gift from my Aunt.  I know she is still with us.
